Södersjukhuset has one of the largest obstetric clinics in Sweden. More than 7000 women give birth here every year.

Here you find the full chain of care, from prenatal through childbirth to post-natal care. This care is provided in close collaboration with Sachs’ Chidren’s Hospital, which has a large department for newly-borns.

The Maternity Clinic offers resources such as the Special Prenatal Care/Ultrasound Unit, Special-BB (Maternity Unit), Psychosocial Unit and Breast-Feeding Centre, to provide support for the new mother and baby.

The hospital is also home to the Emergency Clinic for Rape Victims, the first of its kind in the county of Stockholm. The clinic is open 24 hours a day, to admit women and men who have been subjected to acute sexual assault.
